Our client is a large International Freight Forwarder with many offices situated throughout the world. They offer a full range of services to their clients: air, ocean, transborder, customs, special projects, etc
The “right” candidate will be a local to the Calgary area as well as a career Freight Forwarding professional who is capable of driving operational excellence and promoting aggressive growth. This individual will come with a vast amount of experience with as many different freight modalities as possible etc

Logistics Manager-Vancouver,  BC
RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions:
Manage all aspect of Logistics, Initiate, participate and implement continuous improvement measures and analysis to improve customer service, whilst streamlining existing processes and promoting cost efficiencies
Develop long-range logistics plans and strategies and ensure customer service targets are consistently met.
Implement and maintain existing and new tracking measures in  transportation. Use these measures to benchmark against previous performance, industry standards and customer expectations.
Maintain positive partnerships with existing suppliers, and manufacturing facilities.

Negotiate with 3rd party transportation suppliers to ensure best service, price and terms and conditions.
Evaluate existing modes of transportation and negotiate cost-effective contracts.
Effectively work across broad cross-functional groups including Customers, Sales, Supply Chain, Customer Service, IT and Finance to make integrated decisions and drive successful project execution. Manage customer service teams
Maintain traffic operations and product supply routing. Manage traffic activities for all inbound and outbound shipments.
